Video of latest stuff in DRC

I found this on youtube and I think it gives a harrowing illustration of the current situation

Lake Kivu in more peaceful times

kivu, originally uploaded by mstookey.

This was taken in August 2008, before the recent upsurge in violence.

Seems the plot thickens

As well as spending time on his garden, Pete has other pressing issues on his mind, it seems, that are taking his attention away from Katanga.

That Geranium in more detail

This is in fact the very Geranium that we're talking about.

The variety is 'Cranesbill Geranium'

It's quite rare, and you can see why Pete has such an impossible choice on his hands; definitely save one (plant) life or maybe save many thousands of people's lives.

I appeal to you again - what should he do?

Pete's great gardening dilemma

You may think that this is off topic.

But over the next few hours you will see how intrinsically this is linked to the crisis in SE Congo.

Basically, Pete has to decide whether to go into work and (some might say) contribute to the rebuilding of communities in Katanga. But he could also stay at home and save the life of a geranium plant that's been waiting for planting out for several days.

Impossible choice! What do you think he should do?

Find out more about some of the MSF people involved in this decision at the blog Graham has set up.
